Job Summary
As an MTS Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing test strategies, qualifying features, and developing, automating, and executing tests using NetApp’s automation framework. This role is part of the System Test Engineering group, a centralized organization focused on testing and qualifying various features of the ONTAP product line.
Job Requirements
- Deliver as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) / Quality Assurance team member in the areas of Regression, System, Sustenance, and Solution Testing.
- Exhibit strong verbal and communication skills while collaborating closely with the Engineering team.
- Conduct both manual and automated tests covering Functional, Performance, Scalability, and System capabilities.
- Contribute to the development of test methodologies, plans, and automation processes.
- Create, deploy, and maintain automated system tests to simulate real-world scenarios.
- Review bug reports, functional requirements, and design documents, integrating these elements into test plans and cases.
- Understand system architecture to effectively design feature test plans.
- Collaborate closely with developers to manage software handoffs, address bug fixes, and ensure continuous regression progress for timely releases.
- Work with support teams to troubleshoot and reproduce customer-facing issues.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude, high motivation, flexibility, and the ability to work effectively as a team player across geographies.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in storage, file system, and cloud domains.
- Basic understanding of Networking Protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP/IP, and VLAN is advantageous.
- Strong automation skills in Python/Perl are essential.
- Experience in software testing and familiarity with testing frameworks.
- Solid knowledge of test design and test strategies.
Education
- 1-5 years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven track record of completing multiple, moderately complex technical tasks.
