Engineer-Structural Dynamics

Job Summary:
Eaton India Innovation Center (EIIC) – Center for Digital Engineering (CDE) has an opening for an Engineer specializing in Multi Body Dynamics (MBD) and vibration analysis. This role focuses on performing simulations for electrical products such as breakers, switchgear, and UPS systems, partnering with local and global teams to support engineering designs. The engineer will leverage expertise in MBD and vibration modeling techniques using tools like ADAMS and ANSYS Workbench to drive an “Analysis First” approach for robust product development.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Simulation Modeling:

    • Develop MBD and vibration models to evaluate the critical performance of electrical products.
    • Understand existing modeling methodologies and contribute to their enhancement.
  2. Analysis and Problem Solving:

    • Collaborate with technology and product teams to define problem statements and requirements.
    • Create and deploy simulation methodologies to solve simple to medium-complex problems.
    • Analyze, interpret, summarize, and present simulation results to global stakeholders.
  3. Product Development Support:

    • Deliver deep insights through simulations to ensure robust product development that meets performance requirements and CTQs.
    • Coordinate with product and test engineers to validate analysis approaches using test data.
  4. Capability Development:

    • Assist in advancing analysis capabilities in the MBD and vibration domain for the electrical product line.
    • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree (MS/ME/M.Tech) in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience with a multinational engineering organization.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Technical Expertise:

    • In-depth understanding of MBD and vibration analysis techniques.
    • Proficiency in tools like ADAMS and ANSYS Workbench.
    • Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies (DfSS preferred).
  • Communication and Collaboration:

    • Excellent English communication (oral and written) and presentation skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Problem-Solving and CI Mindset:

    • Ability to interpret technical requirements and provide actionable recommendations.
    • Proactive approach to identify and automate repetitive tasks.
