Role Overview: As a SoC Virtual Model Development Engineer Intern, you will play a critical role in developing fast platform models that simulate the software-visible behavior of AMD’s cutting-edge System on Chips (SoCs). This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the pre-silicon development of firmware, system, driver, and application software. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to build innovative, high-performance models, support debugging, and drive improvements in performance and stability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop high-performance functional models for AMD SoCs and platforms.
- Collaborate with internal and external customers to debug and resolve issues in pre-silicon environments.
- Support and enhance emulation acceleration, performance modeling, and power modeling.
- Improve the functionality, stability, and performance of existing models.
- Develop innovative new features to enhance the simulation and debugging processes.
- Work closely with architecture teams to understand and model next-generation designs.
- Create test plans and validate the functionality of developed models.
- Mentor team members and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex issues.

Preferred Experience:
- Proficiency in C/C++ for Windows and/or Linux environments.
- A strong understanding of system architecture and system software development.
- Experience with functional modeling and architecture simulation is a plus.
Academic Credentials:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
